For the 2007 edition of the 50 Most Beautiful, PEOPLE en Español editors gathered eight of today’s most popular stars under the same roof. Novela actresses Angélica Vale and Adamari López joined the singers of Amor Gitano, talented Alejandro Fernández and gorgeous Beyoncé Knowles, who was chosen an “honorary beauty,” even though she doesn’t have Hispanic roots, due to her interest in our culture and music, which gave us a list of 51 beauties this year.

Other cover beauties were TV hosts Bárbara Bermudo and Candela Ferro, novela actress Ludwika Paleta and Mexican-American actor Mario López. “All I knew was that when you’re young at heart, you don’t stop to think about how you are going to do it,” said of her unexpected success América Ferrera, star of television’s Ugly Betty, produced by Salma Hayek, also on the list this year. Fellow Mexican actress Angélica Vale said she was thrilled with her character, Lety, in the novela La Fea Más Bella. “This year, I was very comfortable because I didn’t have to wear high heels, stay on top of my makeup,” Vale said. “It was wonderful.”
